United Way works for a healthier America
Whether it is a neighbor without health insurance, a victim of abuse, or someone struggling with mental illness or an addiction, United Ways are working to ensure everyone has access to affordable and quality care.
Our Goal
Our work on the Health of our community is just beginning, but the Branch County United Way is no stranger to these issues. For many years the United Way has been a funder for programs such as the Free Health Clinic, Maternal and Infant Health, and Hospice. Attending to the issue of childhood obesity, we also fund scholarships for AYSO Soccer, and sporting programs through the Bronson Youth Recreation Association.
Our Strategy
Achieving our goal requires us all to become more aware of health risks and the potential effects they have on ourselves and others, starting from before birth. Working to change policies and practices, such as extending health care coverage, will enable more people to live healthier lives.

The health of our community is the cornerstone of the success of all that we do, and to that end, the Branch County United Way has always been a staunch supporter of programs that serve the health of our community.
AYSO Soccer
Scholarships ensure that every child has the opportunity to participate in this team sport where everyone plays. Parents pledge volunteer hours to receive scholarships for their child to play.
Bronson Youth Recreation Association
Summer Park Program, is a six-week program providing arts, crafts and organized activities for children during the summer months. There is no cost to attend. BYRA is also an umbrella agency for several sports programs too.
CAPA Safe Sleep for Infants
Branch County’s Child Abuse Prevention Awareness council’s Safe Sleep for Infants initiative promotes education of proper sleep practices for infants to prevent sleep related deaths.
Happy Feet
Simply put – Happy Feet makes sure that kids in Branch County have shoes. Referrals are made by agencies or teachers and Happy Feet delivers the shoes to the school, along with a new pair of socks.
Presbyterian Free Health Clinic
Provides healthcare free of charge to citizens of Branch County who have no medical insurance, are under-insured, or cannot afford to pay for health care.
Telehealth School Clinics
School clinics are able to have students examined by a ProMedica Pediatric and Adolescent Clinic physician or nurse practitioner via assessment equipment linked through Bluetooth technology where they can visually see, hear, and examine the student in real time.
